Verizon Wireless ranked highest among all other national wireless providers in New England, in the J.D. Power and Associates 2013 Wireless Network Quality Performance Study(SM), Volume 1, issued earlier this month. This is the 17th consecutive reporting period that Verizon Wireless ranks highest in the Northeast region.
The study measured network quality among U.S. wireless service providers. More than 27,000 wireless subscribers were surveyed by J.D. Power and Associates between July and December 2012 about their experiences with wireless voice, text messaging and data usage. Based on their responses, Verizon Wireless ranked highest among national wireless companies in five regions, including the Northeast.
In 2012, Verizon Wireless completed $256 million in wireless network enhancements across New England. Since December 2010, when Verizon Wireless launched its 4G LTE network in the Metro Boston area, the company has expanded its 4G LTE footprint throughout all six states of New England.
Verizon is committed to providing customers with the best possible network experience, empowering them to use smart devices and accessories in faster, more innovative ways.

Imagine playing a video game on a smartphone or tablet. Now picture one player in California and another in New Jersey, and they are playing against each other. The lower latency on a 4G LTE network means that when one player makes a move, like pressing down on the accelerator in a virtual car, the other player has the chance to react in real time, make a move and pass his competitor to win the race.
While connecting people and things wirelessly may have been possible before, the improved latency of 4G LTE networks opens up more possibilities and enhances the mobile experience.

Ready to take the 4G plunge but unsure where to start? After nearly 69,000 real-world data, call and text tests, Verizon Wireless has been named top New York LTE performer.
Verizon’s LTE easily bested AT&T’s LTE when comparing average download and upload speeds. Though AT&T now offers LTE service in New York, they couldn’t keep pace with Verizon’s LTE network. This marks the first time ever a carrier has won every RootScore Award in a market.
