Blackberry Q10 Coming Next Month   Similar to the BlackBerry® Z10 smartphone, the upcoming BlackBerry Q10 runs on the BlackBerry® 10 platform and includes a suite of features including smart keyboard software that understands and adapts to a user’s typing style. The BlackBerry Hub helps organize multiple inboxes so users can view all their messages in one place instead of having to jump around from app to app. Q10 users will have access to BlackBerry World to download apps, games and entertainment over 4G LTE connectivity. BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) fans can also use 4G LTE to video chat with friends. BBM on the new platform includes a screen sharing feature so friends can share picture slideshows and co-workers can review documents together.The Global Ready BlackBerry Q10 will be available for pre-order in the coming weeks and will be available for purchase online and in Verizon Wireless stores in June. Users will be able to choose from Black or White color models, with the White model being a Verizon Wireless exclusive. Rebuilding After a Natural Disaster    The People’s Pantry was created by Toms River Regional Schools following the hurricane last year to distribute donations received at shelters to the community. Since then, the pantry has grown into a Hurricane Sandy resource center for community members looking for a helping hand, serving 500 to 800 families each week. To help the pantry meet the needs of the community, Verizon Wireless donated tablets, smartphones, and devices to provide on-site 4G LTE connectivity, and held a Wireless Workshop to train the organization’s staff on how to use the technology.The People’s Pantry volunteers work tirelessly every day to meet the demands of the community. But before handing over your iPad, CTIA suggests that parents use tools provided by wireless service providers to filter content and manage how kids access games, apps, and the Internet. Earth Day With Verizon Wireless In Hoboken New Jersey

This year Verizon Wireless in the New York Metro region launched TAB, a consumer education program to encourage customers to Think Green, Act Green, And Be Green by going paperless with their billing, requesting e-receipts and recycling old cell phones through the Device Recycling Program or by donating old phones to the Verizon Wireless HopeLine program, which supports domestic violence survivors and their families.   

As part of the TAB community outreach program, Verizon Wireless is sponsoring a series of tree plantings throughout New York City and New Jersey. On April 22, Regional President Patrick Devlin and Hoboken Verizon Wireless Store employees joined local school children and representatives from the City of Hoboken for an Earth Day tree planting ceremony which was held in Church Square Park in Hoboken, New Jersey.  Verizon Wireless donated a cherry blossom tree to help green the park which had several trees destroyed during Hurricane Sandy.

Devlin also presented a $5,000 HopeLine grant to representatives from WomenRising. This non-profit organization has been in existence for 125 years and is empowering women and residents who are victims of domestic violence from Hoboken and throughout Hudson County. HopeLine collects no-longer-used wireless phones and accessories and turns them into support for domestic violence organizations nationwide. Through HopeLine, Verizon Wireless has donated hundreds of thousands of phones and awarded millions of dollars in cash grants to partner agencies.
