Frank J. Kautz, II, stands with the new Droid R2D2 at the Verizon Wireless Communications store at 340 Washington Street in Boston. Kautz, an attorney from Woburn, Mass, was the first customer to purchase the limited edition smartphone in Boston. He bought the Droid R2D2 for his wife, a Star Wars fan, to celebrate her birthday. The Droid R2D2 is available online at www.verizonwireless.com and at select Verizon Wireless stores.

With a graphic design to look like the iconic Astromech Droid from the Star Wars™ Saga, the DROID™ R2-D2™ by Motorola will be packaged in a custom box resembling carbonite and come with a Star Wars media dock and wired stereo headset.
