"The results of a new Tech Bargains survey were recently released, and they show that 53% of consumers will spend more than half of their holiday shopping budgets on electronic devices. Of the tech gifts people expect to buy, tablets are, not surprisingly, the most-wanted items of the year.
What is surprising is exactly which tablets customers are expecting to buy. 33% of those surveyed expect to buy Google’s Nexus 7 tablet, while only 30% expect to buy an iPad. The iPad Mini and Kindle Fire HD are tied in the survey, with 24% of respondents expecting to buy each, and 12% will be buying the Microsoft Surface hybrid laptop/tablet device.

Parents who have spent the last few weeks back to school shopping for clothes and supplies can attest that shopping can be stressful. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a growing number of shoppers are avoiding the crowds and making mobile commerce part of their shopping routine.
Recognizing this trend, Verizon and Amazon will offer a suite of Amazon-owned shopping apps directly to customers on certain Verizon Wireless Android smartphones. Retail apps like those offered by Amazon are another way wireless users can customize their smartphones and bring the convenience of online shopping right to their mobile device.

A recent survey conducted by online shopping site Ebates finds that 43% of parents THINK their kids want new clothing this time of year.
Well, according to the survey: 1,100 of the 2208 kids polled (between the ages 8 to 18) indicated that technology was their top priority heading into the new school year. In fact, 42% said they’d specifically prefer a new smartphone, a laptop or even a tablet. Of those who were wishing for tech, it was the tweens (8-12) who yearned for the new gadgets more than the teens.
