
Congratulations to Aliah Davis of Washington, N.J. for winning our Dia de tus Suenos or Day of Your Dreams sweepstakes held during October in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month. Today, Davis will be spending the day with acclaimed Chef Jose Garces, a Philadelphia restaurateur and star of “Iron Chef America” on the Food Network.
Her day will begin at the Verizon Wireless store at 11th and Market Street in Philadelphia, where Garces will sign copies of his new book, “The Latin Road Home,” for fans, and Davis will be presented with a check for $1,000 and a Verizon Wireless 4G LTE tablet. Davis will also accompany Garces on a private tour of his restaurant J.G. Domestic at 2929 Arch Street, followed by a cooking lesson and dinner!

As of April 2012 it is reported that 88% of U.S. adults own a mobile device of some kind, with more than half of these cell owners (55%) using these mobile devices to go online. Moreover, 31% of these current cell internet users say that most of their online activities are with their mobile phone; as opposed to other, more traditional mediums, such as a desktop or laptop computer.

Verizon today announced the formation of the 4G Venture Forum for Connected Cars, a group of leading global automotive companies brought together by Verizon to accelerate the pace of innovation across the automotive and telematics 4G LTE ecosystem. BMW, Honda, Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Motors and Toyota Motor Sales, Inc. are joining Verizon as the initial members of the Forum.
The group will collaborate and explore ways to deliver connectivity to vehicles of all types, by leveraging open standards and discussing ways to accelerate development of the 4G LTE ecosystem across automotive OEMs, suppliers, device manufacturers, application developers and content publishers.

Verizon Wireless announced today it will introduce the nation’s largest 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to several new areas.
Today the 4G LTE network was introduced to:
- Barnstable, and six additional communities throughout Upper and Mid-Cape Cod
- Burlington, and more than 30 additional communities throughout Northern Vermont
- Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Delmarva’s beach communities, Virginia Beach and coming soon to North Carolina’s Outer Banks.
Verizon Wireless has also expanded the nations largest 4G Long Term Evolution network on Long Island.
Verizon Wireless customers with compatible 4G LTE smartphones, modems, tablets and mobile hotspots will be able to wirelessly share music and photos, surf the Web, and download files up to 10 times faster than customers on 3G networks.

Ready to take the 4G plunge but unsure where to start? After nearly 69,000 real-world data, call and text tests, Verizon Wireless has been named top New York LTE performer.
Verizon’s LTE easily bested AT&T’s LTE when comparing average download and upload speeds. Though AT&T now offers LTE service in New York, they couldn’t keep pace with Verizon’s LTE network. This marks the first time ever a carrier has won every RootScore Award in a market.
