
Did you hear that Glee’s Amber Riley will be making her New York stage debut this Fall? Amber will join the cast of Duke Ellington’s Cotton Club Parade, which will return to New York City Center for just a few dates, from November 14-18, as a part of the city’s annual Encores! series. And that’s not all! Tomorrow, Verizon Wireless’ Black History Month essay contest winners will be joining the star in NYC to get a glimpse into a day in her life.
We’ll be sitting down with Amber to get the inside scoop on everything from her latest projects to herfavorite devices and apps. Have a question for Amber? This Wednesday, five students from across the Northeast Area who won Verizon Wireless’ Black History Month essay contest asking how they plan to change history, will be joining Amber Riley, star of the hit TV series Glee, in NYC to get a glimpse into a day in her life. The program, in partnership with UNCF, Teacher Planet, and Get Schooled, was developed to inspire and motivate high school students by highlighting some of today’s most influential African American history makers.

Verizon Wireless is celebrating Black History Month with education, positivity and prizes. Verizon Wireless, provider of America’s 4G LTE network, has initiated “A Day in the Life of a History Maker” for high school students. The program is in partnership with UNCF, Get Schooled and Teacher Planet.
Students who want to participate in the program are asked to submit a 500-word essay by March 31 to www.verizoninsider.com/blackhistory explaining how they plan to make history.
