According to mobile app analytics firm Flurry, video consumption through mobile apps increased by 52 percent in 2012. The increased availability of 4G LTE devices and coverage has changed the way we watch, shoot, share and experience video. Apps like viewdini deliver video content from a variety of providers such as Netflix and Hulu Plus, while several TV networks offer live streaming content through apps, such as WatchESPN.
Real-time video creation and sharing are now a reality with the capabilities of high-speed networks like Streamweaver, a free app that makes shooting video simple and highly social by allowing four users to simultaneously record videos from multiple angles and turn them into one split-screen video. Much like Instagram, people are connecting to friends and discovering content from around the world through apps like SocialCam and Mobli. From shooting and creating to sharing and engaging, the biggest trend in mobile video may be how much we use our devices to watch and create videos now and in the future

QR codes enable companies to drive customers to their own interactive content such as videos, social media sites and Web pages, by using a device’s camera to scan a barcode. These barcodes can be anywhere – billboards, ads, posters, product displays and more, increasing visibility.
The low cost and high interactive aspect of this technology make it a good option for small businesses and provides valuable insights into customers. Small business owners can use many free or paid sites like QReate & Track and Delivr to create their own QR codes and find out the number of scans, location, dates and times used. On Friday, Nov. 9, Aliah Davis of Washington, N.J., had the day of her dreams realized by Verizon Wireless as the winner of our Dia de tus Suenos sweepstakes that was held in October as part of Hispanic Heritage Month. Davis’ prize was spending a day with celebrity chef Jose Garces, known for his appearances on “Iron Chef America” and for his 15 award winning restaurants.
Davis’ dream day experience began at the Verizon Wireless store at 11th and Market Street in Philadelphia, where she and her husband, met Garces for the firsttime. Here, they spent some time talking about the contest, family, food, and more, before Garces presented Davis’ with a check for $1,000 and a Samsung Galaxy 7.7 tablet she could use to document her day.
Garces and Davis then headed to one of Garces’ Philadelphia restaurants, JG Domestic. Upon arrival, Garces showed Davis his office and gave her a behind-the-scenes look at some of his current projects, favorite cookbooks and a private tour of the restaurant, ending in the kitchen where they spent the next hour preparing two of Garces’ signature dishes: Ecaudorian-style shrimp ceviche and a chicken and rice dish. Along the way, Garces gave Davis pointers and shared some of his own cooking secrets. The end result was a meal Davis was able to enjoy with her husband, and an unforgettable experience Davis said she won’t stop talking about anytime soon.

Chances are you’re familiar with the 4-H Club, you’ve stayed in a four-star hotel and you can name a four-star general. But what do you know about 4G? For those only vaguely familiar with the term 4G, it refers to the fourth and latest generation technology for data access over cellular networks. 4G wireless networks are much faster than 3G networks and provide more capacity (or bandwidth) needed to access all the applications and programs now available on smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices.
Two key advantages of 4G LTE are its incredible bandwidth and its ultrafast speed, enabling the user and businesses to access the Internet from a mobile device as quickly and seamlessly as you do from the computer in your office.

4G LTE also can enable Emergency Medical Technicians and ambulance medical technicians to transmit patient data to emergency room doctors while in transit, thus expediting care upon arrival at the hospital; by the time the ambulance arrives, the patient has been admitted, medical records have been pulled and care can begin immediately.
The newest addition to the DROID RAZR line was introduced earlier this month—DROID RAZR M. Several outlets have reviewed the device, and here’s a look at what they had to say.
DROID RAZR M’s design and compact size drew attention from Computerworld, which noted that the large screen runs flush with the border, putting it on par with larger Android phones.
CNET’s review commented that, despite DROID RAZR M size, its fast dual-core processing, access to 4G LTE speeds and long battery life offer strong performance.
The DROID RAZR M is available for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year contract at Verizon Wireless stores and online here
