Today, its 4G LTE network covers 500 markets in 49 states and officially launches next month in Alaska.The impact of 4G LTE is evident all around us. And, new uses are still being developed and introduced for appliances, cameras, cars and mobile health devices. Green Island NY-based Silhouette Optical, a distributor of high-end rimless eyewear manufactured in Austria, turned to Verizon Wireless when they were recently looking to equip its sales force with tablets for processing orders and servicing customer accounts remotely.

“We’re a long-time Verizon Wireless customer,” said Tina Scott, IT manager for Silhouette. “We started with Verizon with 3G USB modems for our reps’ laptops. Every time there’s a new device or a network upgrade, we upgrade too.”

Scott says the speed and capability of 4G LTE were key factors in Silhouette’s decision to upgrade to the new technology. The connectivity and reliability has allowed her team to continue their level of productivity and efficiency.

DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX Making the Global Jump to Android’s Latest OS

Following today’s upgrade to the popular Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX by Motorola will be the first 4G LTE smartphones on the Verizon Wireless network to be Global Ready.

Among the additional features offered with the ICS update is Face Unlock—a feature which uses the device’s front-facing camera and state-of-the-art facial recognition technology to allow for convenient access, exclusive to the device owner.
