Virtual Tour of the Verizon Innovation Center
Verizon established its Innovation Program to encourage the growth and development of the 4G LTE ecosystem and to uncover ways to wirelessly connect just about anything.
Verizon’s Innovation Program now has more than 200 participants and, to date, more than 30 products on the market, ranging from digital jukeboxes and telepresence robots to routers and gateways embedded with 4G LTE connectivity. The recently-introduced Verizon 4G LTE Router is one of the first solutions from the Innovation Program to be sold in Verizon Wireless stores. Much of the work is concentrated at the Verizon Innovation Center in Waltham, Mass. In addition to providing opportunities to demonstrate and showcase solutions, the Center is also home to working labs, where engineers from Verizon and participant companies work side-by-side to develop, test and refine solutions.
Nearing the two-year anniversary of its official opening in July 2011, Verizon’s Innovation Center in Massachusetts has hosted hundreds of customers, prospective collaborators, and companies both large and small, who have seen the kinds of solutions that are possible. The Center in Waltham has also won prestigious awards, including being named a World Class Center by the Association of Briefing Program Managers and receiving LEED Gold certification.

Infographic: How Smartphones and Social Keep Us Connected
Effective Student Marketing released a new infographic last week that details important information about how smartphone users are using their devices throughout the week, and specifically how they’re using the social and communication applications on their phones.
The key finding in the study was that smartphones have revolutionized the way we communicate, socialize, share, and connect. Smartphones, combined with the social and communication applications, allow us to stay connected with our friends, family, and community throughout the day.
Blackberry Q10 Coming Next Month
Similar to the BlackBerry® Z10 smartphone, the upcoming BlackBerry Q10 runs on the BlackBerry® 10 platform and includes a suite of features including smart keyboard software that understands and adapts to a user’s typing style. The BlackBerry Hub helps organize multiple inboxes so users can view all their messages in one place instead of having to jump around from app to app. Q10 users will have access to BlackBerry World to download apps, games and entertainment over 4G LTE connectivity. BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) fans can also use 4G LTE to video chat with friends. BBM on the new platform includes a screen sharing feature so friends can share picture slideshows and co-workers can review documents together.
The Global Ready BlackBerry Q10 will be available for pre-order in the coming weeks and will be available for purchase online and in Verizon Wireless stores in June. Users will be able to choose from Black or White color models, with the White model being a Verizon Wireless exclusive. Customers can sign up for additional information here.

A recent study conducted by CTIA, the wireless industry trade association, found that children 11 years and younger most often use tablets to play games, promote learning, and for travel or restaurant entertainment. 22 percent of parents have given their kids a mobile device to keep them occupied. But before handing over your iPad, CTIA suggests that parents use tools provided by wireless service providers to filter content and manage how kids access games, apps, and the Internet. Check out the below infographic for more findings. Verizon customers can click here to learn more about parental control. From setting data usage limits to blocking calls and texts, you have the power to control it all with Verizon Family Safeguards & Controls.
